| - If it wasn't for a friend working the small business office of this bank, I would of been long gone. First let's recognize my bad. It was me who defaulted on a credit card. Yup, me, I take responsibility for that. After using my GI Bill and graduating from college, I was ready to retackle the world from my financial mistakes. Well apparently this bank don't care. So they wrote off my debt of $6,600. Meaning they can't claim they made a profit from it even though I had paid roughly $3500 of it. Then while attempting to purchase a house, I find out they still had a judgment on me. Apparently the lawyer they used to file my judgment went kaput/disappeared and instead of applying my payments, they just filed a judgment for non payment. Ok whatever, it's the past. So let's fix this. BofA says sure because now they are double dipping. They wrote off the debt and now they want another $1000 from me to settle and have the judgment remove. Anyways, long story short, it took about 6 months for this to happen and to have the judgment removed. I'm a proud owner of a $470,000 home now (mortgage through another bank, obviously) and my business banks with BofA, only because of my friend. Honestly they suck. I have multiple accounts to hand personal, business, payments and what not but still get charged a fee if I don't keep a minimum in that certain account and the interest rate on my credit card is ridiculous compared to other ones that I own. Can't wait to leave this horrible bank. Did I mention to improve stock value, they reduce cost by reducing tellers so that we are forced to use the ATM machine? This bank doesn't care about people. It shouldn't be allowed to be named Bank of America because obviously it's values are different.
