I am looking for a specific vehicle in a specific color. My wife found one back in February at Certified Benz & Beemer. It looked great in the pictures but something didn't look right with the interior. They were advertising leather and confirmed that fact via my phone call. Then, before hopping into the car for the 40 mi drive to the showroom, I ran the VIN number on the BMW registry.
Turns out the car has naugahyde seats.
I called the dealer and told the on-duty sales manager their ad info was wrong. He didn't seem to care. I got a call from another salesman the next day as a follow-up and I explained we wanted leather. He confirmed it was not leather so we parted ways.
Its now four months later and the car popped up on a search again and they have not corrected the copy on the ad. To me, that is either grossly negligent or intentionally misleading to get people in to look at the car. This vehicle has been on their lot for over six months. Way too long.
If you cannot correct errors when your customers take the time to point them out, one can only assume that you are playing fast and loos with the facts. Wonder what else they play fast and loose with?
Also, why do all the positive ads on Yelp for this company sound like they were written by CB&B management? Can you say "shady?"
