So, the Delta South is pretty huge. Two buildings huge. The Tower and then the Atrium. I was in the Atrium. Third floor to be exact, room with a balcony that overlooked the restaurant. The concept is great. The reality is less so. I woke up Thursday morning unsure if I had sleepwalked my way into the restaurant. It was loud. Saturday night with a wedding going on downstairs was also loud. I went to sleep to the sweet dulcet tones of Jason Derulo encouraging me to Wiggle.
Other than the noise, the room was great. King sized bed was super comfortable. The "smart desk" with the hook ups to connect laptop to TV was a nice touch. I watched a lot of Netflix. Wifi was reliable.
We got a 50% discount on the breakfast buffet. At $10, totally worth it. For $20 I would have been sorely disappointed and gone down the road to Smitty's. I also went to Boomtown a couple times. Prime rib night was excellent. I had the shrimp 'po boy for lunch once and that was meh. The shrimp were good but the baugette was meh, and there wasn't much taste to write home about. The steak I had for dinner one night was the most disappointing - at a $30 price point I expect at least some flavour. No dice.
