  • Holy hell, a radio station that actually plays Metallica songs that AREN'T on the Black Album! You know, not just "Enter Sandman" or "The Unforgiven." This station was the soundtrack to my latest week in Central Arizona. It was practically Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Dio, and AC/DC every other song. They were talking about local metal bands, Flogging Molly's upcoming St. Patrick's Day show in Tempe, Van Halen's latest album, craft brewing festivals, and so many more things actually relevant to harder music than the hipster scene. Now, granted they were also playing Creed and any other band that probably wouldn't have fit on the other stations. On Sunday night, though it was excusable. Are you listening, KROQ? Take some notes and get back to your roots. You've lost your way.
