| - I moved in Sept. 2015 and will have to concur with other reviews about deplorable move in conditions. The office manager and staff have changed a few times in the past 6 months, but the current staff is doing their best to right the issues that were dropped in their laps. Also, it seems the management company...not the staff on property, had a difficult time finding qualified, dedicated maintenance people. The best one they had was moved to another complex; our loss. A couple months ago I presented the current manager with my laundry list of issues that needed attention and am happy to say they all have been addressed. One issue, a window that was broken in my second bedroom that I was told by a previous maintenance person was not repairable because it was too old and the parts not available, has recently been repaired and works perfectly. The office manager actually called an outside contractor who had the job done in about 15 minutes. The rental agent in the front office is always smiling and ready to listen to your complaints, write work orders, and make sure they are put into the system promptly. In my opinion she's a great "front line" agent. The grounds are maintained by an outside company, the pool and hot tub are kept clean and chemicals are checked regularly. My patio faces the pool/hot tub and I see this myself. When I moved in the hot tub wasn't working. Current management arranged for an outside contractor to assess and repair and the hot tub now is awesome.
The covered parking isn't an extra charge..so that's a plus, although the parking spots are narrow, not really built for some of today's larger vehicles and the kitchens are small, but for when the apartments were built that was the norm. I also think security could be bumped up a bit.
I truly believe Living Well, the new management company, is trying to improve the living environment of Brookfield Apartment Homes. This is always a slow process and I believe the current office staff is the right liaison to make this happen. What needs to be remembered is...you catch more bees with honey than vinegar. Taking your anger out on the staff doesn't get the work ok'd by the management company any faster.
I WILL BE SIGNING MY UPCOMING LEASE.
