| - Just like most of the other reviews, pole dancing is NOT easy! I got a Groupon for a course and picked a beginner's class. And wow, am I a beginner! Even doing things that looked simple wrecked my body and was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. But, did I feel great afterward and have a ton of fun? Hell yeah.
I thought I would be a bit nervous, but the atmosphere was so calming and energizing at the same time, you could really let your guard down and be yourself - only sexier! The instructor was AMAZING, and really paid attention to each one of her students. She immediately picked out the newbies, and helped us with our form and didn't move on until we all got (most) of the hang of it. She was funny and confident, and really could take command of the room. By the end of this one hour class, I learned an entire routine and was also exhausted as all get-out. Pole dancing takes a toll on your body but in a good way. It was probably the most fun I've had in ages!
I have so much more respect for the dancers in the clubs now, I tell you what. I definitely want to go back sometime, and will have to do one of their monthly package deals; it seems to be the best bet for locals. I was going to make this 4 stars due to the pricing because a one-time class is a bit steep at $30, but it was an extremely intimate space with one-on-one help in certain spots (or should I say spins?) which made this class worth the dough. Trixie was a blast, she's a great instructor and having someone like her teach definitely makes me want to come back for more. I will be seeing more of you, Pole Fitness!
