I live an entire one minute from the South Side Works cinemas so there really was never a need for me to head to Loews. I had heard awesome things about it but also heard of the pricey tickets and decided to stick to my theater.
For Valentines Day we decided on dinner and a movie (#basicAF). We had dinner at Rock Bottom and decided to watch Resident Evil in 3D at Loews.
Sweet baby Jesus.. Tickets came to $24! I think like 4 bucks accounted for the 3D movie but still. Omg! :0 Next we went to get snacks. We normally head to Southside on the discount night which also offers deals on pop and popcorn. My innocent boyfriend thought the same deal was offered and said "ill have the large drink large popcorn special". Haha i told him it doesn't work like that here. $16 for large drink and large popcorn.. Lets take a moment to laugh Hahahaha. We decided on a small popcorn and medium drink.
We asked the lady checking tickets where to find 3D glasses. She finally looked up from her phone long enough to answer out question "down there" .. We ended up finding it.. A tall ass box (like the size of me!) where you almost fall in just to get 3D glasses.
While the building itself has beautiful architecture, I found the actual theater basic. The seats were worn out.. Not the comfiest and in need of replacement. I expected so much better after all the hype this place gets.
The restaurant, bar and little cafe are great touches but dang update the seats and theater guys.
I have no intentions on coming back unless I'm feeling myself and decide to go on a $50 movie date here rather than seeing a movie in South Side on a Monday for $10 for 2 tickets.
Girl, bye.
