Don and Charlie's is a really cool landmark of Scottsdale for baseball fans. There aren't many places in the world you can see autographed Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, and Mickey Mantle baseballs all next to each other. The entrance is lined with signed baseballs and memorabilia covers the walls and ceilings of the entire restaurant. During spring training you MUST make reservations to get in.
Overall the food is mediocre for the price. It is pretty expensive. My wife ordered a medium rare steak that was cooked to medium. She mentioned it and was quickly given a new one cooked correctly, and they even comped her order. That was some great service! We also had some Moscow mules, but they were very weak - id stay away from cocktails here. The employees are very friendly and we had a great waitress serving us and making the right amount of conversation. The largest group the restaurant will take is 8 and they won't seat you until everyone is present.
If you can, you should come here and see the amazing baseball history before it closes. Our waitress said it would close in May 2019.
