  • The biggest mistake I have ever made was to sign a contract with solar city. There are MANY reasons I say this, like no two employees are on the same page, them not returning calls or e mails, they have flat out lied to me many times, they promise time frames and when that time frame arrives nothing happens and if you don't call THEM nothing will ever happen. They damaged property during installation which I fixed myself because solar city didn't think it was a high priority for them to fix. They take forever to do anything and when forever comes , still nothing happens. I shelled out money for damage repairs that were caused by them and they told me that reimbursement had been approved and I would receive a check in the mail.They didn't tell me it would take 3 WEEKS until I called them, again. When 3 weeks passed still no check. So I called them AGAIN because my "project specialist" Robert Denny doesn't answer his phone or return calls or e mails. Again he did not answer the phone which is just as well because all you get from him is lip service. I talked to another rep and she looked into my reimbursement check and she told me that it would be an additional 4 weeks to be reimbursed .When I told her that was unacceptable she put me through to a "supervisor" who did nothing but apologize and when she found out how upset I was she then told me that the "check was in the mail. Yea right ! She said it was mailed 3 days ago. Everybody who lives in Vegas knows it usually takes one day for local mail. I guess only solar city mail takes longer than the rest of the population. Another issue I had was that after my inspection by SC and the city time just stood still for 3 weeks. I called Robert and he told me that there was another document I had to sign before they could submit to NV energy and he would e mail it to me. 10 days later, nothing. SO I called again to see where the document was. It's a good thing I called because if I hadn't I'd still be waiting. 5 weeks after I was told about the document and finally signed it I got an e mail stating that my paperwork had been sent to NV energy. I have only dealt with incompetence on this level with one other business, century link/ prism. Nobody from either company knows what they are talking about or is on the same page or else they could just be a bunch of liars. Don't deal with either one of these companies or I guarantee you will be in for the ride of your life.
