| - If any of you just happened to come across my review of the crooked Orthodontists in Ravenna then this is somewhat a continuation. If not, then listen closely! These guys are scam artists & complete jerks, they will rob you blind if you let them!
I was referred to Hass, I had had a previous bad experience with another orthodontists & needed years of work done to my mouth. I do not have health insurance & was told Hass would be willing to work out a payment program based on my income. But what really happened was just another orthodontists trying to rip me off. I'll admit, the staff was friendly & I hold nothing against them but the doctor himself was like (I'm not saying he did this, this is strictly an example) going on a blind date with someone who hasn't had sex in years & keeps groping you even though you're clearly not interested...
And here's why I project such a negative image about my experience there: After having x-rays & molds made of my mouth, there was no question that I needed braces again for the second time in my life. After my previous awful experience with an orthodontists I was very hesitant about getting old fashioned/ painful metal braces again & didn't hesitate to verbally express my concerns. I had done my homework prior to this visit & knew there were other options available to me, such as invisaline or dentures, etc...
Dr. Roger was just flat out rude, as soon as we discussed my previous experience with braces he became very defensive and started making unprofessional accusations about how I have no right to assume all orthodontists are evil money grubbing jerks. I felt as if he was trying to force his own personal beliefs on me & was very uncomfortable. Dr. Roger also refused to give me dentures & lied to me about the invisaline process! He told me invisaline is only for patients who need just one or two teeth slightly adjusted. This is incorrect!!! Invisaline is for (almost) anyone who had metal braces, a retainer, or a few teeth out of place who would like them to be corrected but without the pain, maintenance or embarrassment of out dated methods such as metal brackets & plastic rubber bands. He also told me it was out of my price rang & got really shitty with me when he realized how little money I had.
He then continued to put boat loads of pressure on me, saying that my car payments can wait & attempted to convince me that I should get a loan from the bank next door. That if I left his office & went straight there & mentioned his name that they would give me all the money I needed- this guy just would not stop nagging me over & over again about applying for a loan.
Then when we finally spoke price, he said he would only be willing to give me metal braces & it would cost me $9,000.00 just for the application!!! That price did not include the monthly doctors office fee nor the monthly cost of having them tighten my braces. $9,000.00 for someone who has no insurance & makes less than $10,000.00 a year- wtf!
So I never went back, ever! Instead I went to Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry & was able to get Invisaline for under $3,000.00 dollars! And my smile looks awesome without the pain, expenses & embarrassment of old fashioned braces!!!
