I give Whole Foods 3 stars for pretty good quality. I used to shop at this Whole Food more often when I lived near it, but now that I'm further away, I don't see the need to travel further than Sprouts or Trader Joes. Recently I went back because they were giving 5% of their proceeds to a charity I support. Anyway i bought a sampling of items to review them. For example i noticed they had prepared Hot & Sour soup for $6.99 a container, the same as a nearby Chinese restaurant I go to. I brought it home and it wasn't very good at all. The difference between this and a Chinese restaurant was incredible. Now is Whole Foods a Chinese restaurant? Of course not, but why are they charging like one? This should have been $3.99 tops for what it is.
This trip cleared any desire to ever go back to Whole Foods from my system. I bought $75 in groceries (1 bag) of which $3.75 went to the charity, but I overpaid for these groceries by $40. Next time I'll go to Sprouts, save $40, and donate $25 to the charity, while taking the tax deduction. Goodbye Whole Foods, I'm over you.
