Ok, so just like the other reviews I went to a timeshare presentation. I said no to the long term contract so they offered a sampler package which sounded like a great deal to get acquainted with the timeshare for the next three years.
The salespeople told us multiple times that 5,000 points were all you needed to book a resort anywhere for a week. After we received the booklet the sales person stated to not worry about how there are rooms with more than 5k points on there because it was just for the people who bought the timeshare a long time ago. For us, 5k points was all that was needed to book a room.
Flash forward to the owner's orientation meeting. At the orientation meeting we were informed that 5k points will only allow us to book rooms 1-30 days out and that we needed to update to 10k points in order to have the ability to book 1-60 days out. Never once when we were signing the contract or talking to the sales people were we told there were stipulations on how far in advance we had to book the timeshare. They do not tell you the base membership is just for the leftover rooms no one else wants.
