Every girl needs a fancy hat... and importantly, a place to wear that fancy hat! Dressing for high tea is part of the experience. =D
We were seated in the small brightly lit room at the front. The back room seemed more bustling and loud.
The servers were friendly and pleasant as we ordered our tea.
They have the small side tables for the tea pots so that you have more room at your table. It drives me a bit nuts when they don't have the tables and there's no space to drink and eat.
It was a bit strange that they didn't pour our tea. It's expected that they do and I was a bit surprised that they didn't.
For afternoon treats, there were scones (of course), cheerful and cute little sandwiches (of course), and desserts! The scones were light and I thought that they were delicious! Lemon and blueberry, I tried one of each with loads of Devon cream. I wish I could have a bowl of cream!
The sandwiches weren't bad... at least they were fresh and not soggy. I liked the cucumber sandwiches the best... I'm not sure why, but I only like cucumber sandwiches if they are finger food size.
The petit four for dessert was a cute arrangement, it was hard not to start with dessert since it's the top tier!
Overall, it may not have been a perfect tea experience, but it's still a great way to spend an afternoon. =)
