It was my first time at this range and what lead me here was the CCW training class taught by the Archangel Training Group. What a fantastic experience all around.
The facility was tidy and from a perspective of vs. outdoor shooting in the middle of June - AIR CONDITIONING is nice!
Since my experience thus far is limited to the CCW training, I will further elaborate there. The instruction was presented from perspective of common sense and reality. The Sarge and Stephanie (the instructors) had great personalities for presentation and from novices to experienced, I think everyone came away with more knowledge than they had before going in.
You got plenty of instruction in tips, legality and properly handling and firing your weapon. Some healthy discussion also came up which lead to one searching your soul a little to see if you're going to be a person who acts, hesitates, is ready for the change of your life if something did happen, etc. All of this and at what seemed like a good pace. Nothing seemed to feel like it was dragging on.
I certainly wish I had waited to purchase my weapon and holster until after taking this class as I learned what I had weren't necessarily the best fit for me and getting the job done quickly if it came to that.
Finally, the fun part (for me at least). The shooting wasn't just a pick up off the table and pew pew a few shots. They took the time to have us shoot under different scenarios, including from the ribcage after a draw and walking backwards.
If you have an open mind, you will enjoy the class and learn something. If you're nervous, be at ease as they will give you help if you need it and they make it easy on ya.
Thumbs UP! I plan on taking their AR-15 Basics and Tactics Class too.
