Lady Janes advertises well, but the delivery fell flat.
I made an appointment for 1st available. When you enter there is a computer screen to sign-in if you are a walk-in or check-in if you are coming for an appointment. I'm all for technology, but the stylists could shout a hello in the direction of the door even as the customer uses the computer.
Throughout the process of my ($16) haircut the stylist never attempted any upsell. I would have happily said yes to the $2 shampoo or even to a more expensive massage or hot towel. My stylist didn't offer anything; though I heard the employee next to me offering a shampoo to her client.
My stylist, who's breath smelled like smoke, made very fast had motions which at times dug the clipper guard into my head. The entire haircut experience took about 15 minutes. When styling my hair with product at the end of the cut, the stylist clearly had no read on how my hair worked. I walked out unhappy with the look. At home I was able to fix the look, so ultimately the cut was a success.
Lady Janes has a decent concept per the website, but it will take more than a few recliner chairs and toolbox supply cabinets to fully deliver on the marketed promises.
