Typical Shady Insurance Practices.
I've been using Progressive for a few months now and have been pleased with the service, but recently moved to a different town with my partner (also from the same town) and was pleased to find that they reduced her monthly insurance rate by nearly a hundred dollars because they were claiming that the town we were moving to was a safer place. Within a couple days I was notified of a change in my insurance payment as well but was surprised to find that it was nearly a hundred dollars HIGHER than it usually is. I call customer service and after being transferred around between a few people who had no clue what they were doing I was linked up with a gentleman who informed me that I now have an increased payment do to the ZIP code that I now reside in being more dangerous and high risk (opposite of the reason my girlfriend's payment was dropped). Not to mention a couple of months ago we both got a letter of non-renewal form the company only to find out upon calling that it was yet another mistake from their end that led them to think that I had moved to Texas, yet when I looked outside it seemed to me that I was still in Oregon...............
Long story short, I thought that I had found a good company to have insurance coverage with at last, but it turns out that Progressive is just as willing to lie and twist the reality that is insurance liability and risk to whatever form best fits THEIR needs.
I've already canceled my policy and as someone who is in the automotive industry I have no problem steering the customers in need that I meet away from Progressive when they ask for my recommendation.
