  • Checked out of the Golden Nugget and went to the handy Budget car rental which is inside the Nugget. Booked car for 9am pick up. Told it would be a 15 - 20 minute wait - that seemed reasonable. It's a tricky location to wait with luggage as it is right near an entry and Starbucks so there is a lot of people traffic and little space and no seating area to tuck yourself away. Unfortunately, the 20 minutes turned into 1 and 15 minutes: rep gave the reasons: first car had an oil light come on whilst in transit there, then next car had to be cleaned... unpleasant way to start a road trip by standing next to luggage in a main thoroughfare and having to miss out on one planned excursion due to extra wait.
