  • Normally I can get gas on a weekend as the area is so busy with customers going into the store that people avoid going for gas and line up ends up being about equal to weekday in my experience. Today went to get gas and got into line up and waited and waited and then noticed only moving up one car at a time. Cars and trucks were situated at this point so that I couldn't go into the middle and drive up and around into another line up and therefore was forced to wait in line. After cars on both sides of me had gone through line and left and I was still just approaching the middle a sign became visible saying the BACK pump was not working. If sign had been pushed further back this could of saved many people the same problem I found myself in. I then went out and told everyone behind me about this predicament and that they would be better off getting into another line if possible. Every car length I moved up I went and told other customers about this and most of them were able to get into a better line. Once at the next to go in spot I got out and asked why they didn't move the sign back to end of the line. He proceeded to tell me that they had it at the very front when the back pump was the one that wasn't working the other day and people complained so they moved it to the end of the line. People then forgot that pump was broken when got to front of the line and pulled up to the back pump (still not working) and then had to try to back up to get at the front pump again. The correct response, in my opinion would be to get another sign, or at least display some customer service and inform people at the back, doing what I, the customer who isn't getting paid by Costco, was doing and informing people in the line that only one pump was available in this line. What they decided was that they would put the sign in the middle so when I (in smaller car so hard to see sign till beside it) was now informed but nothing I could do about it as past point of no return. What makes things even worse is that the pump that was not working was the pump in the front not the back, so not only was the sign wrong but the story he rudely told me had nothing to do with what actually was happening today. I have read a few people complaining about the idiots shopping at Costco, but apparently some of them actually work there too. Only accepts MasterCard, switched from American Express, but question on accepting credit cards not specific enough.
