| - I have had a variety of service here--massages, facials, mani/pedis and a hair cut. I've almost never had any problems with service other than when I missed an appointment and they charged the full amount of the services I missed. I understand thats their policy, but as a repeat customer who as been going there for some time, it could have been an opportunity to garner good will.Their reception is a bit hit or miss. Most of the times you are warmly welcomed but if they are busy occasionally you will feel ignored.
My major issue is that they are charging day spa prices, without any facilities of a day spa. For $120 for a 50 minute massage or $115 facial, I would expect a locker room, showers and maybe a steam room/sauna. After moving to NYC and going to days spas there, I've realized the complete absurdity of their pricing. Maybe its the lack of competition and limited market for day spas in Pittsburgh, but you really aren't getting anything more for the increased prices. A manicure at the mall will cost much less than $34 and the quality is about the same. Add in the hassle of getting into downtown and finding parking, and it just not worth the trouble.
The staff is generally nice, in particular Samantha is great. The others are mixed. Once when I was getting my hair cut, my stylist pointed out that I seemed "shy and not very talkative." Yes, thank you for being professional and drawing attention to anxiety problems.
