| - This review is long overdue. But so necessary. So, so necessary.
This place is BAD. So, so bad. It is located atop The Hotel so you would think, okay it might be not-so-great food but I'm sure a great view. Surprisingly NOT. There is a view on one side of the restaurant, yet for some reason the hostess decided to seat everyone at the opposite side of the restaurant. Whatever.
So this is supposed to be Alain Ducasse--what a travesty. I was almost inspired enough to write a letter to let him know of the horrible representation of his name. Just makes me think of him as yet another snobby money-hungry chef who plops his name on any proposition with zero accountability. No offense, Mr. Ducasse, but seriously I don't understand how anyone whose opinion mattered would walk away from a meal here thinking differently.
For everyone, please steer clear. You MUST steer clear. The food is HORRIBLE. I mean, not even par to a dinner off the strip or at Rio. I've never been to Rio, but it's all I could think of that reflects how disgusted I am with this place.
After the worst dinner of my life, we walked down to Mandalay Bay and our hearts sank as we passed the lively nightlife with MANY great looking options down near the casino. I think the bf secretly wished we went to Stripsteak instead. But of course me, with my sometimes pretentious foodie attitude just HAD to go to Alain Ducasse. MISTAKE! I dunno about everyone else, but coming from NY and LA...BAD. Just saying.
