  • There are serious problems with Laguna Village: 1. Management doesn't enforce its policy on noisy tenants. Even though the lease does have a paragraph about noise. Management literally said my complaints of my extremely noisy upstairs neighbors as just part of "apartment living". According to our "security people" they were instructed by management to ignore our noise complaint phone calls because we were complaining too much. [This has been ongoing since Dec 2016] Also a group of college-aged kids moved in next door about 3 months ago, and every night we are subjected to their loud music, some times until 3:00am. 2. Our unit is still cockroach infested. [This has been ongoing since 2007] 3. The drywall of the ceiling of the balcony above my patio keeps caving in every time it rains. You can see it for yourself. It's unit 145-3, just look at the patio ceiling. It collapses due to rain water damage about every two years. [This has been ongoing since 2007] UPDATE of FEB 25, 2017: So far, its been 39 days since I was told directly by management they'd fix the balcony ceiling which is caving in due to water damage. It has gotten a lot worse since last week's rain. The ceiling has partly collapsed, leaving a triangular shaped hole about 2' x 2', and both of the adjacent pieces of drywall are sagging down about 4". One more rain and it will all cave in like it did a few years ago. I've lived here since 2007, and the patio ceiling has caved-in four times. UPDATE of MAR 1, 2017: They finally "repaired" the caved-in patio ceiling, after they said they would 43 days ago. When I say repair, I mean installed more spackle, drywall, and paint, which will last until the next time it rains. UPDATE of Dec 1, 2017: As of today... ****WE ARE BEING EVICTED FOR THIS NEGATIVE YELP REVIEW... This is the sort of vindictive revenge Laguna Village is subjecting us to for writing this review. Laguna Village sent us a certified letter telling us that they are not going to renew our lease. Our lease expires Jan 31, 2018. Pay attention to the dates on this letter and compare them to the next letter below. UPDATE of Dec 15, 2017: Laguna Village is now reneging on their own lease they signed with us and are kicking us out Dec 31, 2017, even though our lease lasts until Jan 31st, 2018. ONE MONTH BEFORE our lease expires. They taped a message to out door today dated Dec 14, instructing us to get in touch with them by Dec 1st about our move out inspection. Yeah, you read correctly, they sent us a notice dated Dec 14 telling us to contact them by Dec 1st. Here is a scan of this letter on Imgur. This is petty retaliation by Laguna Village apartment management for complaining about the noise, cockroaches, and water damage.
