Let me first say that this location is moved to 6595 Hamilton Avenue
Love this box. I am new as a Crossfit having been inspired by my summer internship roommate up in Boston. My training buddy also just moved and I needed another inspiration to help me along.
Located in a bright pink building, this box is hard to miss. Walking in, it's a simple and unexpecting gym. Usually people who are intent on starting can email the owner Mike directly from their website, however I personally walked in before one of their WOD [Workout of the Day] sessions and talked to one of the trainers. Tara was great at explaining the process working through the On Ramping sessions [3] before getting going. She's a powerhouse in a small package. Very inspiring.
I love that this gym does not uphold the reputation that Crossfit has gathered over the years. True to being one of the first boxes in PA and the country, this box focuses on proper form and safety rather than fiercely competitive pushing and unnecessary injury exposure, which is great. You want to push yourself and keep motivating yourself to get stronger, but keep form instead of doing dumb headstands and not being able to move your neck for a day. [that's happened]
Also, it's a fantastic schedule there are several coaches and sessions throughout the day, on Saturday's it's a partner workout at 10:00 am, a totally reasonable time to get there and a lot of encouragement. Great people. I totally recommend.
