Brought our Chevy diesel in for an oil change. The tech tried to get us to replace the serpentine belt and air filter showed us the air filter it was fine. We requested neither service. After service the truck was driven within the recommended miles for the vehicle 6000 miles. Time for next oil change used Jiffy Lube on 61st and Bell Rd. While waiting for the oil change the tech had my husband come look at the air filter. He showed him how it had been replaced backward sucking dirt into the engine. The Fletcher Tire tech had put in in backward. This caused undue wear on the engine. Also our serpentine belt was still fine. We had the filter replaced correctly and took the old one to Fletcher Tire. The manager looked up our previous service and said nothing other than they would talk to the tech who had serviced our truck.
No concern or remediation. We feel that two things took place they wanted to sell us parts that we did not need and after we said no thank you they put the filter in backward to be nasty. Of course we had no idea what happened for 6000 miles. We will be monitoring our trucks maintenance now very carefully. If any damage is attributed directly to the backwards air filter we will seek legal action.
We will be advising all of our friends and business associates of the situation. Hopefully, helping them to avoid damage to their vehicles from Fletcher Tire.
