I'll start with all the bad.
The rides (sky, train, tram, log) are not included with the price of admission.
Next everything but the front gate is cash. To feed the animals, the restaurants, the rides are all cash. If you do not have a roll of quarters laying around you can get a $10 roll at the front gate.
Lastly, is a good portion of the zoo is outdoors so come prepared for the Arizona heat and sun.
Now for the good.
I loved the collection of animals that was on display. There were so many animals that I didn't think I would ever get to see.
Feeding the animals was really a unique experience. It was really awesome to have the sting rays suck shrimp from your fingers or sprinkling pellets on a giraffes tongue, or holding a parrot stand on your arm while it eats out of your hand.
There are indoor exhibits through out the zoo. While not all were air conditioned, it was at least of the sun.
Really a great time at the zoo.
