I'm in-between a four star and a five star review, so I figure I'll go into some detail:
I enjoy a lot of things about living at the Elysian. The units are beautiful, I love living next to the District, Whole Foods is within walking distance and the staff is very nice.
Some of the problems I've been having though stem from when I first moved in I was put in a unit that (after the fact I was told) I guess is for people who work nights? I was in the unit directly behind the Whole Foods loading doc / dumpster area so for months I was woke up *every single morning* (even weekends) at 5 - 6am to the sound of crashing metal and trucks unloading.
I put up with it longer than I needed to though because as soon as I went and complained to the staff they offered to transfer me to a new unit and waved my transfer fees which was nice of them. They told me the units in my old building (Building 30) are designed for people who work night shifts and are not sleeping at the times of Whole Foods deliveries / trash removal.
I love, love, love my new unit!! I've been in it for a couple months and it's been great. One annoying thing though is I got a notice for an unpaid cleaning fee from the move, which I was unaware of because the payment due didn't show up on my app or resident portal. They are still working with me trying to figure out why they see it but I don't.
There are some other small issues too, like to let a friend in the gates they have to call you through the call box which makes a high pitched screeching sound when you try to do it which is nearly unbearable. Also if you're coming home late night after drinking and you don't have your fob and your phone is dead you are S.O.L. I wish they would just do a gate code like everywhere else.
BUT with all that said I still want to leave the Elysian a high star rating because I like the staff a lot. I think they really do care, which means a lot to me. I think a lot of the issues come from upper level management which isn't the fault of the wonderful leasing staff. Overall I like living here and would recommend it to a friend.
