I've had a couple of visits to The Purple Perk now. Both visits were on a weekend, both times it's been pretty busy, yet with a lineup that moves decently fast.
During my first visit, I ordered a large Americano to go. It was ready for me to pick up before I had even paid (the girl at the register forgot to ring it in. "That was really honest of you!" was her answer).
My next visit I when for a small Americano and a ginger cream cookie. I ended up with a medium Americano. Hey, I'm not complaining! Just that my impression of the staff so far is that they're a little scattered, but still friendly and nice. That ginger cream cookie on the other hand... there's nothing scattered about it, except maybe the crumbs as you're eating it. Two gigantic gingerbread cookies with icing in the middle. That cookie means business! I could only finish a third of it. It took me two days to nibble my way through the rest of it.
Word on the street is that Purple Perk shuts off its wifi when it gets too busy. It's almost the standard flippant remark whenever I happen to mention it. Not sure if there's any relevance to that or not... maybe it's just a sketchy connection? I dunno, there were ppl there on their laptops on my second visit.
