-- My First Impression --
This is definitely the dreamiest and the prettiest ice-cream I have ever eaten. After seeing countless pretty ice-cream photos on Instagram, I've decided to play a visit to this dessert house and give it a try. The store itself was very bright and clean. I was lucky that there was no line up. Since I really wanted to try everything on the menu, I asked the store owner for advice. They told me their bestseller items and I decided to go with his suggestions.
-- Food and Drink --
I ordered two ice-creams:
1. Cotton Candy Affogato on mixed soft serve ice cream (Japanese Green Tea + Vanilla)
2. Japanese Green Tea Mochi with Japanese Green Tea Soft Serve Ice-cream
For the cotton candy ice-cream, I liked how the espresso taste wasn't too strong and it balanced the sweetness of the ice-cream. Since the cotton candy was very, very huge, it took me quite a while to finish everything first before start to work on my ice-cream. I was quite surprised the ice-cream wasn't completely melted. The caramel popcorn in the bottom was a nice-touch. It added an extra layer of texture. Since there were too many things going on with the ice-cream cup, I could not really taste the difference between the green tea and the vanilla ice-cream. However, the Tiffany Blue colour vanilla ice-cream was definitely Instagram worthy.
I actually liked the green-tea mochi ice-cream. The mochi was very soft and chewy and I could actually taste the green tea flavor in it. The koala and waffle cookies on top and the pine nuts in the bottom of the cup were very crunchy and it mixed well with the ice-cream.
-- Overall --
I would definitely come back to Dolce 21. Pretty and tasty ice-cream, amazing service, plus a very cute and obedient puppy. I am normally afraid of dogs, but this is the only one that I am not afraid of in person. :)
