| - The yelper formally known as Abu J and I came here because they had the car I wanted and I desperately needed a new one and my beloved mommy-car was totaled on a pileup on 101 a few days before.
Acura of Peoria advertised a particular price for a model we wanted, and the salesman said over the phone that they could discount it 10%. We drove over an hour to the dealer and took a look. Here our troubles began. We took it for a test drive, everything seemed OK so the bargaining began. First off, the 10% discount they promised was denied. We went back and forth for hours, they didn't seem happy I was paying cash for it, they sent out a fake sales manager to close the deal. We finally came to an agreement, something of which I wouldn't have agreed to had I not been in desperate need of a new car, then the true waiting began for the finance manager. After another three hours, they tried to sell us a half dozen upgrades and had a hard time taking no for an answer. I was ready to start throwing things but thankfully Abu J was there and put on his scary business man persona and told her to knock it off and write it up as is.
Acura of Peoria engaged in unethical behavior in offering one price and charging another, engaged in deceptive practices by adding in services and features that we didn't want or ask for and most annoyingly in my opinion engaged in silly high pressure sales tactics. We ended up paying more than we expected, and taking many hours more than required.
As my love put it, "this was the worst experience buying anything in my entire life. I have spent more on dinner than we spent at Acura of Peoria, but I haven't ever taken as much time over a meal in my life."
A few days later I find the auto door locks don't work. The car makes the "beep-beep" sound when you hit the button, but the locks don't go up and down. Secondly, the CD changer doesn't work. When we called the sales manager, we were told "sorry, it was a used car" even thought our sales guy told us twice it went through a milti-point inspection (100 point, something like that) and we would find nothing wrong with it. Turns out I pulled the maintenance records from Lexus and they did know about the door locks.
No matter what you do, don't come here. They are dishonest, operate with a preassure sales tactic and are fraudulent. Stay far, far away.
