Travel back in time at Honest Ed's... This all-in-one bargain shop is a historic landmark in Toronto. You can't miss their huge neon orange and yellow lit signs on Bathurst and Bloor.
For many years, I would visit regularly and especially when they had their monthly 50cent sales. The service was exceptional, a few of the employees even knew me by name.
They have everything here - clothes, electronics, household items, furniture and food. It's a great spot for random knick-knacks and actual vintage things. The prices were fairly cheap and the sales/deals were amazing (25cent days). This place is surely a treasure hunt.
I was doing some last minute holiday shopping here and... the feels... my heart felt heavy. The walls were empty. There were floors and sections closed off. It saddens me to hear that the land will be used for more condo developments.
Farewell Honest Ed's, you will be missed immensely by Toronto. :'(
