After several years of having access to a Chase ATM near the shoe shine/gate 3 area, it is gone (puff) from the United Terminal. I know the City of Phoenix negotiates with the banks on who gets access, but it isn't always the dollar amount achieved that should serve as your decision-making guide, but also serving the passengers and citizens. There isn't an ATM past the gates that I could locate, but too late for me.
90% of the time, I fly United. While the gate check process always goes well and I love this quieter terminal, if you're TSA approved you can never count on the lane being open. Today, indeed the check-in line made it all the way to the gate check area! The other issue has been inconsistent baggage claim process, although I am told that the City of Phoenix is partly to blame. Baggage claim remains a sort of circus with last minute changes and everyone standing from every flight at the same number. It is somewhat of a Laurel and Hardy skit. There are also times when the line to get any food is so long that one has to do without. Overall, this could be a great smaller terminal, but it is not run in a consistent manner.
