Stuck in Calgary airport for a layover, a beer seemed like the appropriate thing to have during my wait. When I arrived, I was presented with a beer list of 8 options on tap ranging from $8.79 to $10.79 + tax, and was then informed 4 of those options were out.
They did have some local black ale beer in replacement of one of those taps, which was okay but not worth the $10 price tag.
The thing is that if this "brewhouse" actually offered anything impressive, maybe I'd be less judgemental. But the room is literally just a bar with high back chairs and then a bunch of regular tables and chairs behing them. No comfy booths or any semblance of a upscale environment that might warrant $10 + tip priced pints.
Food all seems wildly overpriced for what it is but the kitchen was closing on my arrival so I didn't have to take that risk. Given the only options for beer was this place and the Chili's located in the airport, you're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place... But I'd still probably go to the Chili's next time.
