i've been to the md renn fest and it's pretty much the same deal. it's perfect for people watching and for those who wear those rennaissance, pirate, fairy, goth outfits that they have been waiting oh so patiently for (pre-halloween gear?). i even saw grandma wearing a neon green tinker bell costume. oh yeah...a lot of A boobs pushed up to become C/D boobs to those interested. anyways, tix at the door is the expected $20, but the food is relatively inexpensive. turkey legs were $7, bread bowls were $5.5 and the beer was from $4-$5. and yes, they serve woodchuck there. forget the smoothie ($5.5); it was really horrible...i'd much rather have a sugar laden 7-11 slurpie and that's not what i'd even drink. the falconry show was pretty neat and there are tons of stuff you can do if you have kids. beware though...a lot of the shows are r rated in terms of language. seats at the jousting shows fill up quickly so get there and sit in the sun about 30-40 min prior to the show starting. parking was relatively easy with lots of guides directing you where to park...just remember where you parked after all the beers you've inhaled. overall great fun...put on your sneaks though...you're walking pretty much through parkland and there is a lot of walking...
