| - I'm definitely a fan of Royal Beef. Stroller-friendly as they have a small ramp at the entrance (you'll still have to open the door yourself, but sometimes the friendly staff come open the door for me). They are a small butcher shop with assorted unique grocery items that are predominantly Italian (think pastas, including alternatives such as other grain or rice pastas; olive oils, olives, tomato paste, Italian breads, porchetta, truffle-based products, etc) but with other random things sprinkled in. I enjoy browsing the shelves to see what they have - for example, the last time I was there, I found whole green peppercorns (which I'd been looking for for a Thai recipe), and creme de marron de l'Ardèche (chestnut paste/cream) which apparently is used in French baking. They sell cheeses, popular brands and homemade deli (they have an amazing Berkshire applewood smoked ham), anchovies (though only in sunflower oil, not olive oil), lots of different kinds of meat that is vacuum sealed for freshness (some kinds pre-marinated), frozen seafood, and of course, the fresh butcher counter at the back. I haven't had a chance to sample the fresh meats yet (they have some beautiful ribeye steaks..) but I'll definitely be back.
