  • My friend frequents this shop and it's been a minute since I've had my nails done (10 months), so I thought I'd give them a whirl. She made our appointments over the phone and we requested the same time, so we could hang out, however, our technicians were set up far from each other. Initial impressions: We were seen almost immediately, which is great, but we barely had time to choose a color. Since I was being beckoned by my technician (I really wish I could remember her name), I rushed over and told her the color I wanted. After just two attempts and possible misunderstanding, she produced the perfect color! At first, the tech's demeanor was very unfriendly and almost annoyed. However, this completely changed after we starting chatting so the rest of our interaction was very pleasant. I got a manicure and pedicure ($35) and both services were fantastic! I usually do gel polish, but I didn't need the mani for anything special this time. Basic nail polish usually concerns me because of proper drying time (and I'm so clumsy). Since we did the manicure first, my fingernails had an adequate amount of time to dry during my pedicure. My pedicure, however, did not have enough time to dry and I ended up hitting a toenail as I got into the car. I wasn't super concerned because you can barely see it. Anyway, the tech did a wonderful job. The polish was very neat and I was so pleased with the additional services included in the stellar price (massage, lotion, scrub, etc). She took so much time and care in my service and I didn't feel rushed! For my friend, however, she has not had all great experiences. Though this was my only time with her, I've seen her nails in the past and the quality is extremely inconsistent depending on the technician. So much so that I would actively avoid certain techs (the painting job has been so bad). Anyway, solid salon, however, it seems like a gamble of quality (perhaps just with regular manicures). I would advise doing some research before visiting to find a reputable technician. I do want to find my tech's name because I highly recommend her! I'll update once I find out. UPDATE: So, I called to see if they could help me find out the identity of my technician. The first person who answered the phone was helpful; she explained they don't keep track of appointments, details, etc (This seems problematic), so her solution was to book me an appointment and see if I could figure it out (unhelpful). Then, I asked if technicians had designated stations because I remembered which one. I explained the location and she offered two names. One sounded familiar, so I said that I will call later and see if perhaps that tech remembered me. Again, she offered to book me an appointment, so I stressed that I would prefer to see this specific technician because she did such an amazing job. Just as we were finishing up our conversation, another lady snatched the phone. She just said, "Hello!" so I quickly explained my mission. She rudely responded with the same information the other lady had already told me and asked, "If you tell me the tech's name, then I can book you an appointment..." UHH, of course, I said, "No, I don't know her name, that's why I'm calling to see if you could help figure it out." I also mentioned talking to the tech that I had narrowed down to see if she may remember me and her agitated response was, "She's not going to remember you. They see so many people and you haven't been here in a very long time." (It has been 2.5 months, I didn't realize that was considered a "very long time") WOW, OKAY. I said, "Okay, well I can see you're becoming agitated; I just wanted to find my tech..." and before I could finish, she quickly said, "OKAY, BYE." Not that this matters so much now, I believe my tech's name is Holly. But, I guess I'll never know. In addition to recommending her to others and in this review, I actually wanted to make an appointment this week. I GUESS NOT. Five stars for (most likely) Holly, 1-2 stars for Elaine's Nails. BTW, if that was Elaine that grabbed the phone at the end of my conversation, you need to curb your attitude.
