  • I had never played a physical escape game even though I'm a bit of a veteran at phone app escape games, so this really was my first one and it was SUPER fun!! My sister and brother-in-law joined me and we were the only ones in the room to solve the puzzles. She's done many escape rooms and she said this was one of the best she's played. The puzzles were creative and a lot of fun to do. There were a lot of unique gadgets/tools used to obtain hints and/or solve puzzles, and the room was constructed very well and oh-so-clean. With the three of us there, I thought it was just right. Playing with 5+ people in the room might make you feel a little claustrophobic so 3 was perfect for us. We played at another Escape room in Tempe that night, and although it was fun as well, I think my brain was challenged a little more at Dare to Escape AZ. Kudos to the game designers!! I would HIGHLY recommend playing The Cult of Mithras here if you like to solve a variety of puzzles and enjoy thinking outside the box. You can get hints when you're stuck, but beware that the more hints you get, the less points you have in the end, so plan it wisely. Also, if you get really stuck near the beginning of the game, chuck the ego out the window and ask for a hint. Sometimes you only need to get the ball rolling! The only downside to choosing Dare to Escape AZ as one's first escape game is that it may ruin other escape games for you because you expect other games to be just as good/creative/fun! I dare you to beat... House of Adobo!! LOL
