| - I remember going here when I was a kid. Our family would load up the car and make the treck from Lakewood to Chardon, felt like it took forever back then.
It's actually not a bad drive. We got there in less than an hour from Ohio City (near Westside). I bought one of the CBS Local Offers so I was curious how they would handle it when I arrived. To my delight everything went smooth and we redeemed our offers for tickets and entered the park. It's an extra $4 to park but thats not bad, especially since the parking is pretty close to the park, making it easy to go back to the car and grab stuff if you need to.
The day we went was really hot. It was Sunny and warm and the park still wasn't too packed. In fact, I kept thinking that it was crazy how few people were there. I mean it wasn't a ghost-town or anything, it had a good amount of people there, it just wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be on such a nice day.
I brought my 7 year old and he loved it. We stopped and picked up a bunch of lunch meat and snacks and filled our cooler (they let coolers in so you can bring anything you want in except alcohol). So, we had plenty of stuff to munch on which kept me from spending money on concessions, a huge win there.
We enjoyed the water slides, paddle boat, basketball courts, pitching cages and mini-golf. We had a blast.
I'm going to put this one back on Summer to-do list, it's worth at least one visit a year.
