I am a little hesitant to write a review since I have mixed feelings. So I'll try to break down the Yays and Nays as best I can:
Yays:
- Very friendly and welcoming reception staff.
- Offered a beverage and a bowl of popcorn (yes it's true!).
- Kelsey (the colourist) was awesome. She listened to what I wanted and offered her own advice. I appreciated her opinion and was pleased that she wanted what would be best for me and didn't just blindly do what I thought would look best.
- Shawnn (the hair stylist) was also very good. He gave me a great cut.
Nays:
- Did not know ahead of time that I was going to have a different colourist and hair stylist. I was thrown off and a little upset that Kelsey was done with me once she got my foils in. I was hoping to continue to explore whether or not she would be the right 'fit' for my hairdresser since I'm new to town.
- The price is likely moderate for a salon but definitely not moderate in terms of a basic hair colour and cut. I realize the price had to factor in two hair stylists and the assistant that washed my hair and gave me the scalp massage. But it was definitely an indulgence.
Overall, a great place to go to get pampered but not a place for an everyday cut and colour. That's just my opinion though, I'm not used to paying so much. Probably a small town thing. The big city can be expensive!
