When I lived on the west side, the Copps at this location was my go-to grocery store. While I had no issue with the Copps, the facelift that came with Pick 'n Save is quite nice - it looks more modern and bright than its previous iteration.
Things seem more or less the same as the old Copps, at least in the produce/aisles/bakery. I didn't visit the deli area on this occasion. Prices have gone up a bit.
Some changes I did note:
- They've adopted the triangular Pick 'n Save aisle signs that I've found difficult to read at other locations; the angle is severe and you have to basically be in the aisle and walk around the sign to see what's in the aisle (different items on each side of the sign) instead of being able to see everything listed up above the aisle from a distance.
- I thought they'd done away with self-checkout, but there are a couple of stations on the left side closer to the dairy aisle.
- When using the self-checkout not all of the items' names matched. For example, I had to search for yellow potatoes to get them weighed in. The label in the produce section called them yellow potatoes. Searching "yellow" brought up nothing. Searching "potato" didn't work. I went to the Search by Picture function and took a chance on Yukon Gold. After choosing those the audio portion called them something like "Sweet Yellow Golds." I use self-check all the time but the search took probably two minutes and had me feeling like a newbie holding up the line.
It's fine but I wish they would have turned this location into a Metro Market - the west side would be a prime location for one!
