The more tea places that open up, the more I realize that the customer perception of the quality of tea comes from what kind of tea that person prefers. I have been judging every tea place I visit by the quality of their standard milk tea with boba, jasmine milk tea with boba, or oolong tea with sea salt cream and boba. Those are literally the only things I get - because I save my thai tea affairs for thai food occasions. As you can see - these preferences leave out entire swaths of delicious tea options.
That being said - the milk tea here isn't my favorite. I would describe it as watery. It was eh- and I wouldn't come back for it. However, the owner was kind enough to let me sample some other tea options. The Crystal Jade is a green tea with lemon juice, mint, and fresh fruit puree. It was excellent and I think on a hot summers day it would hit the spot. It is the perfect mix of tea and lemonade to not be too sweet or too bland but perfectly refreshing.
If you are craving a milk tea, I think the drive to chinatown is worth it. If you are looking for a crisp and refreshing standard tea or juice/tea remix - you'll love this place!
