| - In Las Vegas, they don't just build casinos, they also build palaces. These are grand palaces of entertainment that feature games of chance, the spectrum of dining choices, state-of-the-art movie Theatres, bars, night clubs and additional choices of entertainment. The 215 Beltway is the ribbon of asphalt connecting to a few of the newer palaces towering over the Las Vegas valley. It is at the northernmost point of the 215 Beltway at Alienate Parkway where there is a palace of entertainment called the Alienate.
The Alienate sprouted up from the desert on November 11, 2008 as a Station casino. The interior design was similar to its sister property Red Rock Casino southwest of it on the 215 Beltway. The Alienate Station as it was called at the time was born at the start of a recession. Station would sell off Alienate Station and became the Alienate.
Between 2008 til today, I would not be a stranger even when the food choices alienated me. When it was Station managed the Feast Buffet was the draw. But when it changed ownership, it became Medley Buffet. When I dined there in Winter of 2013 filling up on nachos because the food was subpar, I was unimpressed. The casino also lost the food court Dunkin Donuts leaving coffee lovers with no options for quality coffee. The food choices were nothing terrible or great. There was a food court including Panda Express, Dairy Queen, and Johnny Rockets in addition to restaurants including T.G.I Fridays. This summer, Nathan's and Starbuck's would be the dragons that breathed life back into the Alienate.
My brother had told me about Nathan's. So after a late summer hike up in Mount Charleston, I gave Nathan's a try and was impressed. This is the first Nathan's in the Las Vegas valley outside of the Resort Corridor. So Nathan's and Starbuck's have rounded up a 3.5 star rating to 4.
The Alienate is the opposite end of the world from me, meaning that it is a distance from my Henderson residence. It is a hop and a skip from my brother's North Las Vegas home. In the northernmost reaches of North Las Vegas the two closest palaces of entertainment are the Alienate and Cannery. When I visit my brother, we usually pick the Alienate. In comparison to the Cannery, the Alienate is the better choice. This palace is more commodious, provides far better parking, more upbeat, and modern. However my brother did win big at Caveman Keno when we were hanging out in the Cannery.
If you live in North Las Vegas, this is a palace to make a friend or relative feel like a King. Back in the Spring of 2010 we took our old man to the Alienate. It was an enjoyable evening of taking in a Las Vegas buffet and seeing "Hot Tub Time Machine" in the Regal Theatres. Our old man was impressed with the Alienate.
I am also impressed with the Alienate. The new Nathan's and Starbuck's was the wildcard bringing it from 3-1/2 to 4 stars. Because you live once, when your in the vicinity of the 215 Beltway in North Las Vegas stop by the Palace of Entertainment off the Alienate Parkway exit and treat yourself like a King for a couple of hours.
