  • I lived at EOC for 2 1/2 years 5 years ago. I moved out for a couple years then moved back in in summer 2009. The location is awesome- I love Central Phoenix (I work in Mesa and it's easy access to freeways) 5 years ago I had looked around and the rates at EOC were really pretty great for the area, as they still are today. I never had any problems the first time around. I lived on the 3rd floor and felt that my electric bills, even with the thermostat set VERY conservatively, were high, so insulation might not be great. Back then I paid $712/mo for the larger 1 bedroom. The only other complaint I have is that someone stole the HUBCAPS off my 1993 honda accord while it was parked in my space in the parking garage, and one other "break in" when I must have neglected to hit the lock button on my alarm key chain and some items were stolen from my car. I never had any problems with the deposit/move out. Maintenance has never taken more than 3 days to get around to fixing anything, and mostly it's things like unclogging the shower drain- nothing that can't wait a short period. I now live in a 2 bed, 2 bath with a roommate and we pay right around $900/mo. Management company changed a couple months ago and the office is now open 7 days a week and have later hours than before. When management company changed, we renewed our lease and rent went down by about $120/month and pet rent which we had previously been paying went away. All the gates around the complex have locks on them, but stupid people will be stupid people and there's always at least one vandalized lock so someone without a key can get in. As soon as one gets fixed, another one is broken. We live right across from the main pool, which on the weekends in summer is Party Central! Lots of 20-30somethings (which I am) drinking beer and music, but the noise level has never been disturbing. They do have awful, cheap pool furniture that was new this past summer and they'll probably have to replace it for next summer. There have been a couple periods when the pool has been closed for a week or so for repairs during the summer with no indications as to when it might re-open. The fitness center is nothing fancy but perfectly acceptable. I see the other reviews and their horror stories upon leaving. I do hope we don't have that problem when the days comes but I'm not too worried. We have several family/friends who are attorneys :)
