| - My buddies and I stayed here over Super Bowl 50 weekend and we were quite pleased with the hotel component of our stay. Check-in was fast and the front desk agent did a great job explaining where everything was to us. We stayed in room 15-313 and we were satisfied with our room selection (two queens). The room had a semi-strip view, you could see Outback Steakhouse and Coca-Cola World from the window. Our room was not luxurious but it was clean and no appliances were broken. I am actually thinking about booking my next Vegas visit at the Monte Carlo.
The only aspect of the Monte Carlo I had was with some of the dealers. My buddies and I gambled a lot there and encountered many friendly dealers. But three of the most darn awful dealers I met were these African women (Not African-American) and they were absolutely inadequate at their job. They would make many dealing mistakes, refuse to own up to it and get mad at you for confronting them about it.
case 1) Free Bet Blackjack: Dealer pushes on all hard 22s.
After all the players made the decisions, the African dealer exposed an A,2 as her cards. Her next card was a 9 for a 12/22. She automatically pushes the hand, at which point I confront her about having to take another card because it's only a 12. She rejects my claim and I request a manager. She responds with a NO, and immediately discards the cards in the tray.
case 2) Free Bet Blackjack: You have to make certain hand signals when you want a "free bet" for your double down or split.
This different African dealer had made a number of mistakes already, resulting in the pit boss coming to check on her a few times. Players would make the appropriate double down hand signal for a 9/10/11 and she would sometimes give out the next card, forgetting to put out the FREE BET coin. On the second time this happened to me, she claimed I didn't give the appropriate hand signal. With the support of the entire table, I argued I had and she was mistaken. Again, she was adamant that she was correct and she refused to give me a FREE BET coin or call the pit boss over.
Over the next two days, I would receive this same type of attitude from these African women dealers, nobody else. By the second day, I made it a point not to play with any of these dealers because it was just uncomfortable.
Monte Carlo is located right next to the Aria Hotel & Casino, so you could walk there in 2-3 minutes easily. There is also a free tram that will take you to the Bellagio too. The Monte Carlo does not offer much in terms of restaurants and luxury, but they provide a clean and comfortable atmosphere for their guests to stay and gamble at.
