Passed by chimney Stax at Vaughan Mills today and was immediately enticed by the interesting swirl of dough with ice cream in it. I circled around and came back to it, first of all surprised by the cost of the dessert. For the basic cinnamon sugar cone, it sets you back $8.5 + tax, anything more premium would cost more...
I love ice cream, but I am not fond of overly sweet desserts. The girl at cash said that the basic would be the best, so we ordered that one.
The cone was about 6 inches in length with soft serve filled inside, a donut hole at the bottom to hold the soft serve. The soft serve was nothing special. Sweet, vanilla goodness. The cone tasted like a stale croissant... or a very dry flaky bread, covered in sugar and cinnamon powder.
It was refreshing as a treat after long hours of shopping in a parka, but I wouldn't do it again. You get a better deal at Costco with their soft serve and double the amount.
