| - 51's baseball at Cashman Field is your chance to watch baseball in a more intimate setting and to watch some future talent. Noah Syndergaard was dominating here, got the call, and made his MLB debut on Tuesday. If you see Steven Matz as the listed pitcher, get your tickets to see him because he's dominating as well (7 2/3, 9 Ks last outing) and he's an injury or trade away from being the next to get the call.
Always look for promotions (kids carnival, jersey, and cap) before you buy your tickets. Firework nights are especially good. Sit on the first base line and you'll have a great view. We've actually been to Cashman for Fourth of July twice and they put on a decent 15 minute show. If you enter at the Washington entrance on the west side of the Cashman Center, you'll have less than a 5 minute walk to and from the park.
When you're in the park, expect a high scoring Pacific Coast League game. Also, expect to see and hear things that you won't from the upper deck or outfield bleachers of a major league park. The popping of gloves, the cracks of bats, the base coaches making "back" calls to base runners, umpires calling balls and strikes, and seeing the speed and breaks of pitches are all things that are bonuses of watching minor league ball in a smaller venue.
Because it's minor league ball expect minor league ticket prices, play (some of the errors really make you cringe), food, amenities, and entertainment. For me, all I need is a cold beer, a regular vendor that can replenish said beer frequently, a seat with a back, a cup holder, a dog, and a bag of peanuts. Just being able to watch professional baseball in Vegas makes me a fan and makes any other negative factor about Cashman quite tolerable.
