If I could give them zero stars I would.
Zips opened a location very close to my office and they are very inexpensive. I used them for about three months. I quickly noticed that nearly every shirt I gave them ended up with buttons missing. They even lost one of my shirts. I pointed out the missing buttons and I was told that "Maybe you brought it in that way." So, I stopped using them more or less.
The impetus for this review is my most recent experience. On Monday of this week I accidentally spilled V-8 tomato juice on a brand new suit coat. Because Zips was so close, I brought the jacket to them while it was still wet with tomato juice in hopes that the stain would be easier to remove. I was told they could try to remove the stain and I paid them upfront as is their policy.
On Wednesday of the same week I came back to pick up my jacket. At that point I was handed my jacket on a hanger in a Zips bag with a note reading, "We can't process this order." I was shocked that my jacket was in exactly the same condition as it was when I gave it to them except now the tomato juice was dried in and presumably harder to remove. When I asked why Zips "cannot process this order" I was told "I don't know." I asked why they took my money if they had no intention of attempting to clean the stain and was told "I don't know." When I asked why they didn't call me to tell me that they could not service my order I was told "It is not our policy to call our customers with problems."
Fascinating! Apparently it is Zips policy to take your clothes and your money and then return them to you in worse shape than when they took them, but not to call you if they run into a problem with your order.
It is not my policy to deal with incompetent dry cleaners. I have never written a negative review in my life about any business in any forum but I was motivated enough today to join this website just to bad mouth this horrible business. I think anyone can have a bad day but this place, is just a bad store. Period. Never, never, never, never again.
