I frequently visit Nohadra market to grab certain food items you can't find elsewhere. They're Assyrian-Iraqi, and the contents of the convenience store reflect that.
The special stuff they have: in the back, grab a container of "Gaimar" - it's a creamy spread made from milk (mostly contains milk fat), SO good you have to try at least once. It goes really well with date molasses (which they sell, the kind from Basra is my go-to) and I would typically eat this combo on "Sammoon" bread or pita bread as well. They also carry FRESH dates when they're in season and other fruit you don't usually find in mainstream grocery stores. Their grocery section is very tiny though, but usually whatever they do bring in is very nice and fresh. You can find a wide array of nuts, seeds, spices, and grains typically favoured by Iraqis in bulk here. Lots of different canned and dried beans. A very nice selection of black teas that you won't find elsewhere, almost any of which are eminently tastier than the likes of Tetley and Red Rose.
Overall, a must-visit for its very special selection of food items.
