| - Recently being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, not type 2 to type 1, but a late in life diagnosis of Type 1, I was referred to this office for my first endocrine appointment, with Dr. Mishra. To be straight forward and blunt, I was thoroughly unimpressed with the entire staff at Endocrinology Associates from entrance to exit. Not knowing otherwise, I continued with the facility for a short 8 months.
Lack of concern for a patients well being is my top complaint for this establishment. I had expressed concerns for multiple abnormal feelings (e.g. fatigue, breakouts, foggy memory, inability to focus during conversations, muscle pain and swelling, etc.) and was told it would get better as my body adjusted to insulin and a new lifestyle. After my 3rd appointment, about 6 months later, I was still experiencing the same feelings and issues, only to finally be told I had another autoimmune disease, that creates had every single issue I was concerned for. They had known about it since the prior test but did not find it to be worthy of concern because numbers on a sheet of paper deemed I "shouldn't" feel those effects. All that seemed to matter was my A1C, and as long as that was chartable none of my other feelings would be recognized.
When you go to a specialist, you expect to see that specialist and not their assistant every single time. I met Dr. Mishra once, the first day and never again after that. I was constantly being told they would check in with the doctor and let me know next time I came in, a solid 3 months later... 3 months in the unknown, 3 months feeling like garbage. While I understand the life of a medical specialist is busy, I do not accept being left without answers, test results not being explained, feelings/concerns being brushed aside, etc.
Check in process and getting prescriptions through Dr. Mishra's assistant was a mess. Took 4-5 days for a call back, and when I did get a call back, I was greeted with an already impatient tone and a "know it all" attitude from a non-medical professional.
I have since then found a new endocrinologist who is aggressive with my treatments and has made me feel better in the past 2 appointments than this place accomplished in 8 months. If you're looking for a great place to put you on the track to a healthy, happy life, do not go to Endocrinology Associates PA.
