Sadly, lakefront dining is a rarity in Cleveland. I'm just happy that Pier W is so good. I'll admit that I was sad when the silly nautical kitsch and old-school charm of the old Pier W disappeared, but that nostalgia feels really stupid after a few years. The redesigned space and menu are splendid. The not-so-secret happy hour is a real bargain. The booze and food are excellent values. This new design allows almost everyone in the place - including at the bar - a spectacular view of the lake. The food and service are worthy of the view. It's pricey, but worth it.
