Republik Nightclub is one of the clubs that I checked out on a Friday night during my first visit to Toronto back in June of 2007. Clubs in Toronto were so dead...and on Friday night! *baffled* Maybe all the cool kids were at another club by the pier. We should have stuck with plan A and gone to the pier. Oh well...at least we (3 chicks & 3 dudes) didn't have to pay cover. Seeing as how all the clubs on the block were trying to give us free passes that night, we soon found out why...
* uncrowded dance floor = not happening? (the pic I snapped of the dance floor is zoomed in)
* "teeny boppers" wearing backpacks (I know it was a Friday night, but to a club??)
Regardless, we manage to have some sort of fun no matter where we go. Highlights that night...
* no cover
* no line at the bar (I have 15+ pics of us, posing in front of the bar, with no one else around us!)
* friendly bartender (we should've taken a pic with her since she wasn't busy)
* plenty of room to move around
I can't remember much else about this place since it's been a year and a half...hopefully it's gotten better since then.
(The address on their website is 261 Richmond Street W.)
