| - I had been going to Barbarella with fairly good results for about a year. During my second last appointment, the stylist was running 30 minutes behind and made me wait. He apologized and, while I wasn't thrilled, I moved on hoping for a better experience the next time.
Fast forward to my last appointment: I was running late because of a big car accident that stopped all traffic. I called to let them know I'd be a few minutes late and was told "no problem." Even though I was 7.5 months pregnant at the time, I ran the last few blocks to get there, as I was running 15 minutes late by this point. Once I got in the door, panting, the woman at the desk told me "Sorry, his next appointment will be here in 40 minutes so he doesn't have time for you."
I get it, I was late (due to circumstances beyond my control). But here's a few things they could have done instead: Offered to cut my hair but not style it, so the stylist could remain on time. Call me and tell me "There's no point in rushing to get here as you are too late." Or how about have the next client wait for a few minutes, seeing as they had no problem making me wait 30 minutes on my previous visit?
I called another salon and got my hair cut the next day. I was treated so well and they fixed a few of the problems they spotted with my last hair cut (unevenness). Sorry Barbarella, due to two very poor customer service experiences, I will never be back. And I'll be telling my friends.
